New Summer Bag: White GG Marmont Matelassé Leather Super Mini Bag

I was honestly debating getting this bag for a while, but I decided to finally go in and get it! I didn’t know about getting a luxury bag in such a light color, if it would stain, if I would get use out of it, or if the size was practical. However, after further consideration I decided that this would be a good bag for me to invest in! I love the Marmount collection, I have the Small Shoulder Bag in Dusty Pink and the 2.0 bag in red.

This bag retails for $890 + applicable tax. It has a softly structured shape and a flap closure with Double G gold-toned hardware. The hardware is inspired by an archival design from the ’70s. It is made in Italy with matelassé chevron leather. If you don’t like the white color, it also comes in Dusty Pink (the neutral color I have my bigger marmont bag in), black, red, and the white color featured here. I feel like these colors match most outfits, which is why I have gotten bags from Gucci in all of those colors and get less expensive bags in colors that I am less likely to use.

For summertime especially, a white bag matches with so many different outfits! I have 2 other white bags, a Marc by Marc Jacobs & a Kate Spade that I have used a lot. The Marc by Marc Jacobs bag began to become worn down after being used so much over the past few years, so I knew that I would definitely get use out of this bag – as I don’t like spending so much money on something that I won’t use and will just sit collecting dust in my closet. I am usually careful with my belongings, so I hope that with proper care my bag will not stain and stay pearly white. This is one of the smallest bags I own, but I can use it for a variety of different things.

I like this bag as I can use the key ring to attach it to a larger bag or attach my key pouches to. The chain can be removed so it can be used as a mini clutch or a makeup pouch. The chain can be used as a cross-body strap or doubled up to be more of a purse. It even can be turned into a belt bag by using the key ring combined with the strap! I feel like there are so many ways to use this purse, making me get my money’s worth with it!  

I loved the versatility of this piece and thought that the white was perfect for summer, I can even see myself sneaking this in other times year round! 

This bag is not super big – the first time I used it today I fit my phone, my key pouch, a portable charger, a lipgloss, some tampons, & cough drops. However, I don’t really plan on using this to hold a lot, just as a more “going out” bag where I need to carry along a few essentials.

Today I used it as a makeup pouch inside my bigger Louis Vuitton Damier Azur Speedy and use the key ring to attach it securely when I do so. I also can attach my key pouch to the key ring inside of it when I am using it alone. I like to have my things securely fastened, so I loved this feature! I also think that these pieces all look good together! 

How I styled this bag today

Top: Mystique Boutique NYC – I cannot find the exact one or anything similar to it, but I have this in black as well and I am always getting use out of it – matches so many outfits!

These sandals are a summer favorite of mine, I have been using them so much for the past few years! They are comfy, but also cute!

Overall, I am really happy with this bag and can’t wait to style it more ways with different summer outfits now that it is getting warm out!
